Student-directed play on May 18th
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog - Come join us for musical comedy, Dr. Horrible's
Sing-Along Blog presented Friday, May 18, at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). This student directed play is written by Joss Whedon (who
wrote and directed “The Avengers”). Dr. Horrible, an aspiring supervillain with his own video
blog, is attempting to join the prestigious Evil League of Evil (led by the
legendary "thoroughbred of sin", Bad Horse), but his plans are
usually foiled by the egotistical superhero Captain Hammer. The play is rated
PG and is student diected by Selena Tibert and Sophie Wise. Admission is free.

State History Day results
Congratulations to the Stanwood High School History Day team who
dominated at last weekend's State History contest in Bellevue. Maggie
Phillips, Sean Dolan, Marlee Raible, Emily Najar and Madalyn Schei
completed a "Stanwood shutout" in the exhibit category with the top two
group exhibits qualifying to head to Nationals this June in Washington
DC. Amanda Bye overcame tough competition to qualify as an alternate
with a 3rd place finish in individual historical performance. Please
congratulate these individuals on their hard work and dedication!

We will host our annual Celebration of Excellence awards night on Wednesday, May 30th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). Displays of student work will begin at 6 p.m. in the PAC lobby.
Scholarship Night
Our annual scholarship night will be held on Tuesday, May 29th, at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). This event is by invitation only.
Class of 2012 Graduation
Stanwood High School will host the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2012 on Friday, June 8th. The ceremony will take place at the Bob Larson Stadium at 7 p.m. Entry is by ticket only.
Student Portfolios
All students should be wrapping up required projects for
their grade level.Encourage your
child to check out his/her portfolio and bring it home so you can make sure all
items have been finished for this school year.The final due date for senior portfolios is Thursday, May 17th.
Summer HSPE test
Stanwood High School will be a testing site for both the Writing and Reading High School Proficiency Exams (HSPE) in August. The tests will be given in the main library. The Writing HSPE will be on August 14th and 15th while the Reading HSPE will be given on August 16th.
