Remember school starts at 7:40 a.m. tomorrow.

 

 

 

Students at SHS and LHHS can earn high school credit in a world language.  You can do this by successfully passing district approved assessments in language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a language other than English.  Testing dates are: April 18-21, 2017.  Registration is through April 12 in the Counseling office, or see Senora McGuire in portable 845.

 

 

 

SENIORS!  Grad Nights will have a table in the commons during both lunches today.  There are scholarships available. 

 

 

 

FBLA State written tests, both solo and written, must be completed by Friday this week. Please remember the 1/2 day schedule for conferences beginning tomorrow. Remember there is no late start tomorrow. Please communicate with Mr. Colby when you plan to take your tests for FBLA State this week.

 

 

 

ASB Officer Candidate "Readiness Interviews" will be conducted in the main office conference room after school today.

 

 

 

The one-hour 2017 Fine Arts Assembly will be held in the gym tomorrow, March 29th between 1st and 2nd period.

 

 

 

It's conference week! 1/2 days begin tomorrow and Spring Break begins next week!   REMEMBER THERE WILL BE NO LATE START TOMORROW!

 

 

 

Please check at home for any overdue library books.  Now is the time to find those books and return the books to the library before the school year is over and you receive an overdue or library fine notice.

 

 

 

Stanwood High School’s Traffic Safety Education Program is now enrolling students 15 years and older for the 4th quarter session beginning on April 17th, 2017.  The session lasts 5 weeks.  Registration packets are available in the main SHS office, the SHS Commons area, and on the SHS Website.

The five week grade check on all spring sport athletes will be on Friday, March 31st. Please see Mrs. Wark in the athletic office with any questions.

Family information night about AP/College In The High School/Running Start program will be on Thursday, February 2nd at 6:30 p.m.  In the PAC.

 

Anyone interested in competing in a power - lifting meet at Snohomish High School March 25th. See coach Rowe.  Weigh in is at 8:30, and meet starts at 9:30.

 

SHS Traffic Safety is now enrolling for 3rd quarter class beginning February 13th.  Class is 5 weeks.  Packets available in the commons, SHS Office, and SHS Website.  Questions…call 360-629-1317.

Winter Sports Sign ups are going on now in the Athletic Dept.  Winter Sports are: boys and girls basketball, boys and girls wrestling, and boys swim.  First day of turn out is Nov. 14th.

 

 

 

Neil Simon’s very funny farce, Rumors will be playing at 7:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, and Saturday, Nov. 12 in the PAC.   Doors open at 6:30 p.m.  Tickets are $9.00 for adults and $8.00 for students.

 

 

 

No Bells today due to SBA testing.

 

 

 

Veteran’s Day Assembly tomorrow in the PAC.  This will be by grade level.  12th grade will go 2nd period, 11th grade will go 3rd period, 10th grade will go 5th period, and 9th grade will go 6th period.

 

 

 

Traffic Safety DUI night tomorrow, Nov. 9th at 2:30p.m. at Church Creek room 20.

 

 

 

2016 Music Grants

 

The Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation is accepting applications for music grants through November 11, 2016. There are grants available for high school students (including home schooled students) with financial need who reside within the Stanwood-Camano School District and who have demonstrated a commitment to the field of music. Bruce Kollmar Band Grant (1-2 grants @ $500 each) - Bruce Kollmar was the much-loved director of the Stanwood High School Band for 26 years. This grant is open to junior and senior high school students who have an accumulated GPA of 3.0 or above (or a teacher’s recommendation) and can be used for music lessons or for the purchase of an instrument. Application deadline is 4:00 p.m., Friday November 11.  See SCSD Wedsite for details.
