Today's news and notes

No school April 3-7 for Spring Break

Students: Only ONE week left of March to participate in the Book Scavenger Hunt in the SHS Library! It only takes a few minutes to search and locate the items on the scavenger hunt list using the Destiny Discover Catalog. Drawing at the end of the month for prizes. Stop by the library for forms.

Next month will also continue with book reviews! So don't forget to "duck into the library" and Quack open a good book. . . . then submit your review for another drawing!

April is Poetry month! We will have a poetry contest in the SHS library with more prizes to give away! Come help us build our "POET TREE." Also there is a National Poetry contest with a grand prize of $500. Stop by the library and pick up a flyer for details!

Languages

Students--Can you speak another language fluently? You may be able to earn credit for that World Language. There is a test that you can take to show your knowledge in reading, writing, listening, and speaking the language. Benefits of taking the test are: earning high school credits, meeting World Language requirements, and qualifying for a Seal of Biliteracy on your diploma.

There will be an opportunity to take the test on Thursday, March 30 at 11:15 during conference days. Sign up in the counseling office if you are interested.

Last week Tristan Hanson and 23 students from Stanwood High School attended the Washington Technology Student Association State Conference. TSA allows students to take what they have learned in the Career & Technical Education program and apply those skills in a series of competitive events to test their technical, leadership, and employability skills.  The Stanwood chapter did extremely well this year. Please join be in congratulating Tristan and his students:
